Make your own safety signs

Pick a symbol, type your wording, download an A4 PDF. No account, no watermark, no cost.

Most sign shops want a minimum order and a few days. If you need a "Scaffold Incomplete" sign on a hoarding this afternoon, that does not help. This does the same job in about thirty seconds on any office printer.

Everything runs in your browser. Nothing is uploaded and nothing is stored on a server.

What is in the library

634 signs. The full ISO 7010 set, plus the construction and site signs that actually get used.

Prohibition signs
No entry, no smoking, no naked flames, no pedestrians, no unauthorised access.
Mandatory signs
Hard hats, eye protection, high-visibility clothing, safety boots, ear defenders, harnesses.
Warning signs
Overhead load, deep excavation, electricity, fragile roof, trip hazard, forklift traffic.
Safe condition signs
Fire exit with directional arrows, first aid, assembly point, emergency stop.
Fire equipment signs
Extinguisher, fire alarm call point, hose reel, fire ladder.
Construction site signs
Pre-made site entrance panels and the standard mandatory PPE board.
Hazard symbols
Flammable, toxic, radioactive, biohazard, explosive.
And the rest
Facilities and amenities, blank sign templates, road and traffic signs.

Search by name or by ISO code. Typing w015 gets you the overhead load triangle.

How it works

Pick a symbol from the library on the left. The sign appears on an A4 sheet in the middle of the screen.

Type your message in the properties panel. The text resizes itself to fit the sheet, so a long message and a short one both come out looking right. Set it left, centre or right.

Add your company logo if you want one. Upload it and it sits in the top corner of the sheet. The tool reads the colours out of your logo and offers them as swatches, so the colour bar along the bottom can be set to match your branding in one click.

The page orientation is chosen for you based on the shape of the symbol. Fire exit arrows come out landscape, warning triangles come out portrait.

Printing and batches

Every sign exports as an A4 PDF at 300 dpi. That prints clean on an office printer, and it is high enough resolution to send to a print shop if you want it on foamex or Correx.

If you need a set of signs, a new site setup, a scaffold handover, a hot works area, add each one to the batch as you build it and export the lot as a single multi-page PDF.

Signs you use often can be starred. They pin to the top of the library so you are not scrolling for them next time.

ISO 7010 signs

ISO 7010 is the international standard for safety signs. It fixes the shape, colour and symbol for each type so the meaning is the same regardless of the language spoken on site.

Round with a red circle and diagonal bar is prohibition. Round and blue is mandatory. Yellow triangle is warning. Green square is safe condition. Red square is fire equipment.

In the UK it is referenced by the Health and Safety (Safety Signs and Signals) Regulations 1996. Using the standard symbols is how you keep signage compliant, and it is why every symbol here is the ISO artwork rather than a redrawn version of it.

Common questions

Is it free?

Yes. No account, no limit on how many you make, and no watermark on the PDF.

Where does my work go?

Nowhere. It stays in your browser. Nothing is uploaded to a server.

What size do the signs print?

A4, portrait or landscape depending on the symbol. Scale it up on a copier if you need A3.

Can I put my own wording on any sign?

Yes, on all of them apart from the pre-made panels that already carry their own text.

Can I add my company logo?

Yes. Upload it and it goes on the sheet. The tool also picks the colours out of your logo so the colour bar can be matched to your branding.

Can I print several different signs at once?

Yes. Add each sign to the batch as you compose it, then export the whole set as one multi-page PDF.

Does it work on a phone?

Yes. The layout stacks on a small screen and the PDF comes out the same.
